So I’ve seen this shirt in like a million places all over the interwebs. Pretty awesome, right? So it was only after wandering around on my super talented friend Ashley Dailey’s site Pop + Shorty that I realize that it’s not just a shirt she sells, it’s a shirt she MADE. That’s right. Ashley rocks and I’m one degree away from internet design fame.
It brings me a special kind of joy that the muppets I was entranced by as a child are just as relevant and funny two decades later. Seriously, go back and watch the muppet movie. Hysterical.
This is by far the greatest thing I saw on the interwebs today, a worthy successor to my gal Oprah. I just hope she doesn’t pull a Leno and take back his show once he gets one, which is completely inevitable.
These snickers commercials just keep getting better and better. The only thing that might be more awesome than the commercials, is of course, Aretha Franklin’s hat. Because nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is more awesome than Aretha Franklin’s hat.
How cool is this? Band aid is putting braille on their packaging. A little gesture that makes a world of difference for some people and for the rest of us, a reminder that hey, that paper cut probably isn’t the life altering event we’re making it out to be. Plus, it’s always fun to be exposed to new languages.
Remember when they came out with the state quarters which were (and still are) completely awesome (or lame if you’re Texas…like anyone really needs a reminder of what the outline of that state looks like)? And remember how just when you thought, this is a great idea, how awesome is this, it got even more awesome when the Muppets got involved? The most exciting change America has ever seen! And how!
These days it’s the census shaking up your expectations of boring old government with fantastic advertising. And good on them. I love the census! It’s such a noble and impossible undertaking. Plus, it happens so infrequently it’s a big honkin’ deal. Add a little Christopher Guest & Co. into the mix and let the magic happen. Tap into AMERICA!
Classical music reminds me of the dentist office. Every time I think I’m going to mellow out and give my neurons a little pick-me-up I’m gripped by the anxiety of knowing that I will soon be reprimanded for not flossing eighteen times a day. My dad enjoys the old stuff and pointed me in the direction of his favorite station, KUSC, which proffers this bold manifesto on their Web site:
I think this is a station I can get behind.
For my hipster brethren, The Hood Internet is throwing down the awesome with indie/hip hop mash ups that are single-handedly keeping me in the loop with what’s playing on terrestrial radio. More holler, more MGMT…or something like that.
